Get a Library Card

Your library card allows you to borrow items from the library. Your card also allows you to use library computers, read e-books, listen to audiobooks, learn new languages, download music and more.

High River Library is a member of Marigold Library System, The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC), and The Alberta Library (TAL) offering access to millions of items throughout the province of Alberta.

How to Get a Card

  • Visit High River Library
  • Show government-issued photo identification and proof of address
  • Pay the card fee

If you are a new resident and/or do not yet have identification, please call the library at 403-652-2917 to find out what you need to obtain a library card. 

Sign Up Online! You will be asked to show identification when you come to pick up your card.

Types of Cards

  • Child/Teen (0-17 years), $3
  • Adult (18+ years), $15
  • Family (a card for each member of the family), $25  

Don't live in High River? You may be able to use your local library card by signing up through ME Libraries.
