High River Library's book bike

Book Bike Adventures

Enjoy a library away from the library! We look forward to seeing you every summer when we're out on the library's book bike.

What's a book bike?

It's a mini mobile library. An Urban Arrow cargo bike, the HRL book bike is able to carry materials from the library for loans and programs. You can request it for events, deliveries and more. We can check out items, process memberships, and generally have a lot of fun! Keep an eye out for the bike this summer as we bring the library outdoors.

In 2022 Hot Rod Fabrication donated some sweet customizations to the bike--an umbrella stand, a table and an a-frame display unit. We love what they've done and the changes help us use the bike in even better ways!

Can the book bike be requested for an event?

Yes it can! To make a request, fill out the following form.

Can I drive the book bike?

Unfortunately not. The book bike can only be operated by library staff.

About the bike:
  • The bike is an ebike -- it runs on electricity!
  • The bike itself weighs 50Kg
