Renewals & Overdues

Renewing your items

Most library materials can be renewed unless:

  • There is a request on the item
  • The maximum renewal limit (2) on the item has been reached
  • There is an outstanding balance on your account
  • Your library card has expired
  • The item was brought in from another library.

There are 4 ways to renew library items:

1. You can access the library catalogue from your home or office computer through www.tracpac.ab.ca.

Please note: If online renewal does not work please contact the library by phone or in-person.

  • Click on My Account
  • Login using your library card number (do not put in the spaces) and password (last 4 digits of your home phone number-you can change this under Patron Account).
  • Select the Patron Account tab.
  • Select the Items Out tab.
  • Check items that you wish to renew.
  • Click on Renew Selected Items or Renew All Items button at the bottom of the list.
  • Double check that the items were renewed (check the due dates).

2. Call the library 403-652-2917.

  • Please have your library barcode available or your personal information - name, address or phone number to confirm identification.
  • We begin taking phone renewals at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday and take calls until closing time.

3. Visit the library to renew items at the circulation desk.

4. At the library, go to any TRACPac station or the library's website on a computer, and proceed as per step 1.

Overdue Items

Fines on High River items are $.10 per item per day.

  • The due date is on the tag provided at the time of check-out. You can also check due dates by entering your library barcode and password High River Library website.
  • Customers who exceed $20.00 in fines for overdue, lost or damaged items will have their borrowing privileges suspended.
  • Privileges will be reinstated upon payment.
  • Lost or damaged items are subject to replacement cost.
